Meet the Instructors

Lead Instructor: Ms. Kylie

Kylie is a regionally, nationally, and internationally placed Irish dancer. She began her dancing career at a young age exploring the genres of ballet, tap, and jazz. Eventually, she found her way to Irish dance and completely fell in love with it! Since then she has traveled across the country and the ocean competing in Irish dance. A few years after the studio she attended shut down, she and her close friends reunited to form The Traditional Irish Dance Academy. Together they decided to perform at events across the city and offer non-competitive Irish dance classes. By shifting her focus to performing instead of competing, Kylie has a reignited passion for the art form. Kylie is our lead instructor and teaches all classes. She also uses her degree in business marketing to manage the studio's marketing and merchandise. She loves helping our dancers prepare for their performances and gain confidence in themselves as dancers!

Assistant Instructor: Ms. Brigid

Brigid began dancing at the age of four, inspired by her older sister who started dancing shortly before her. Brigid has always loved performing with her friends and working towards goals together with them. Her love for Irish dance has allowed her to travel all over the country and to Ireland for competition. She even reached the highest competitive level of Irish dance. When presented with the opportunity to teach at TIDA, Brigid enthusiastically agreed. Now she shares her love for Irish dancing with her friends and their audiences, without the stress of competition. Brigid assists Kylie with all classes while completing her degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern University.

Assistant Instructor: Ms. Cassidy

Cassidy began Irish dancing at the age of five and instantly fell in love with the rhythm, energy, and community that surrounded it. Over the course of 11 years, she trained and competed at the regional level, with one of her proudest memories being her very first Oireachtas, where she placed 10th. That moment sparked a deeper passion and appreciation for the hard work and joy that Irish dance brings.

Now excited to return to the studio in a new role, Cassidy is thrilled to share her love of Irish dance with the next generation of dancers. She looks forward to helping students grow in both skill and confidence, while fostering the same love of dance that made such a lasting impact on her life.

Studio Manager & Choreographer: Ms. Sheila Mary

Sheila Mary has been Irish dancing for 18 years. In that time she has placed regionally, nationally, and internationally, with her greatest competitive title being an "All- Ireland Medalist" in 2019. After dealing with serious injuries and witnessing the unhealthy aspects of the competitive dance world first-hand, Sheila decided to approach Irish dance from a new perspective. She now uses her talent to shape healthy and fun experiences for dancers of all ages. She loves creating solo steps and group dances for The Traditional Irish Dance Academy. Sheila leads choreography workshops, attends TIDA performances, and helps manage the "behind-the-scenes" aspects of the studio.
